RESIDENTIAL ELECTRONICS SYSTEMS INSTALLER – RESI

The RESI installer is proficient in pre-wiring for home theater and telecommunications equipment interconnection. He/she will install network wiring for cable TV, satellite and antenna outlets, telephone equipment outlets, audio and video entertainment and computer equipment. He/she will have skills required for low voltage wiring installation.

S/He will work from house telecommunications wiring plans, installing cable fittings and selecting the specified cabling for each technology. S/He will test, mark and document all cabling and will have the ability to troubleshoot and restore pre-existing cabling systems.

RESI workers typically will also be qualified in one or more of the 5 endorsement specialty areas listed below.

The RESI can become certified with ETA by passing the knowledge examination and Hands-On skills assessments named RESI BASIC SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE.

RESI certificants can acquire one or more of the five subcategories endorsements as listed below.

The RESI Certificate will display the specialty or specialties acquired thus identifying the areas in which the person is qualified.
